Tarpon Fishing

A fishing style that is very exciting and fun but one that most people have probably never heard of is Tarpon Fishing. In fact, I did not even hear about it myself until about two weeks ago where I went on a summer fishing trip that involved this fishing style. This fishing style is one of the most exciting styles that there is out there to fish for. If I was to compare it to any other type of fishing I would have to say that Tarpon fishing is very closely similar to Bass fishing. Its load of fun and excitement and a smile will come to your face every time that one of these fish bites your line.

The only differences about these fish are that the Tarpon fish are usually larger quite larger then what Bass are. Tarpons tend to get a little bit bigger then bass do so you can expect to feel a little bit more weight on your line when you are reeling one in. The way they fight are pretty much the same though. Both kinds of fish will put up a very good fight and an exciting one as well to go along with it.

A common place for Tarpon fishing is in Florida and that is where I happened to go fishing as well. It was a great trip and I recommend that anyone who loves fishing tries this trip out at least once in a life time. The fishing is fun and the state is just great. Did I also mention that it is beautiful in Florida as well?

If you are feeling brave you can try Tarpon fly fishing as well. This is a bit tricky but its lots of fun.

Tarpon Fishing Tips

Now I am going to share with you a few tips that I have found out about fishing for Tarpons. Tarpons are not really all that hard to catch really, the real challenge in fishing for these kinds fish is actually reeling and managing getting them into the boat. They put up a great fight and you can expect a brawl when you happen to have one hooked onto your line.

The hotspots for these types of fish are usually found in areas like Florida and many other southern states. These fish are usually found all year round so you do not have to worry too much about going there at a certain time of the year. You will be able to catch them at all times of the season and there is no optimal time of the year to fish for them as they can be caught all year round.

These fish swim in large numbers, and when you happen to find one you can be sure that there are others around as well. They travel in huge numbers and often at times you will not need to move your boat at all. Once you have found one you have pretty much found them all. A good idea is too just stick to one spot and fish there as they commonly stick together.

You will be able to yank them in like they were nothing, just be sure that you are physically ready for the task as it can get quite tiring after awhile.

Tarpon Fishing Florida

As I said earlier, tarpon fishing is commonly done in Florida. This is one of the best fishing locations in the world for many styles of fishing.

If you are planning a fishing trip, I highly reccomend you look into staying somewhere in Florida. The fishing, weather, and people are great there.

Tarpon fishing in Florida will surely be a lot of fun.
